SCHOLARSHIP

We are commanded by God to study His Word.  2 Timothy 2:15 instructs us to “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.”  Being edified in the Word of God is vital to God’s mission.  When we are edified, God is glorified, and Satan is horrified, vilified, and nullified.  Therefore we will continually strive for excellence in the teaching and understanding of God’s Word relying on the Holy Spirit as our instructor for wisdom, inspiration, interpretation, illumination, and application. We will be diligent in doctrinal knowledge of the Scriptures, continually striving for perfection in our Bible Study, Sunday School, Christian educational congresses, workshops and seminars, and also advanced Christian learning in seminary schools and classes.  We will embrace the use of technology as an aid with research, and media such as audiovisual and computers and other mobile devices when appropriate.  Moreover, as we study the Word of God we want to instill hermeneutical principles such as context, first mention, comparative, and covenantal, among many others principles that are required for exegetical excellence.  2 Timothy 3:16-17 clearly explains that “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”
